I assume that “Bang Bang Bang” is going to be my song of summer every summer, but I think I’ll detour this year to the re-recording of “Record Collection.” No hard feelings, “Bang Bang Bang.” You’re a close second.

Mark Ronson, “Valerie (feat. Amy Winehouse)”
Today I listened to this song a billion times, went out to dinner, and then came home to listen to it a billion times more.
On the plane on my brain ‘bout to the do the show
I don’t understand why this isn’t everyone’s favourite song
See, she gets it.
What comes up when I try to watch “The Bike Song” on MarkRonson’s official YouTube channel. And you know what? I am okay with this.
On the plane on my brain ‘bout to the do the show
There was a point this summer where I almost wore this song out by listening to it on repeat for at least a week, running up the play count in the triple digits in about a day on iTunes, not including the innumerable times I viewed it on YouTube. Thankfully I can listen to it again, and also cling to it in an attempt to remember Mark Ronson’s once-great hair and to forget that “The Bike Song” exists (verses should never be the hook in a song, because that leaves the chorus unlistenable).
And I reblog this entirely because I am fairly sure I still have friends who haven’t heard this song, even though this blew up on my dashboard in June and July, or maybe only heard it once, and didn’t get what the fuss was about. And yes, listening to it right now would make you terribly late to this, but wouldn’t you much rather live a life with this song in it than one without? I think so.
“I’ve had bang bang bang stuck in my head all day”
—Text from Robyn today after showing her this video last night, evidence that I am doing my part to spread this to everyone in the world
Why aren’t we all just watching this video 24/7? I would be happy doing just that, I think.

It so satisfying to sing along to this and dance frantically while organizing your closet. UN DEUX TROIS
